Uploading your music

Step-by-step instructions for uploading tracks and albums, and what every setting does.

    Before you start

    • All music on Cloosi is uploaded by artists themselves — you own and control your catalog.
    • Supported formats: MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, MP4, OGG, AIFF and ALAC, up to 250 MB per file. Upload the best-quality version you have.
    • Artwork can be JPG, PNG or WEBP. You'll crop it to a square after choosing it.
    • If your artist profile is still waiting for approval, you can already upload. Your profile and tracks stay private until you're approved.
    • To sell music, connect Stripe first — see Sales and payouts.

    Upload a track

    1. 1Open your artist dashboard, go to the Tracks tab and click Upload track. The full-screen upload page opens.
    2. 2Click Choose files and pick one audio file. (Picking several files creates an album instead.)
    3. 3Optional: a window offers to import details from Bandcamp or SoundCloud. Paste a link and click Import, or click Skip, I'll enter details manually. You can open it again later from the Import details from Bandcamp or SoundCloud button.
    4. 4The file starts uploading right away. A progress bar shows under the file name, and a green checkmark appears when it's done.
    5. 5Click Add artwork to choose a cover image, then crop it.
    6. 6Fill in the required fields: Track title, Main artist(s) and Genre. Add tags, a description, a release date and privacy if you want.
    7. 7Optional: open the Advanced settings tab for credits, ISRC, label, explicit content and license.
    8. 8Under Track pricing and downloads, choose Streaming only, Free download or Sell this track.
    9. 9Under Before you publish, tick the three boxes confirming you hold the rights, the track follows the content policy, and you agree to the terms and privacy policy.
    10. 10Click Upload at the bottom of the screen. Missing required fields are highlighted in red so you can fix them.

Wrong file? Click Replace track next to the file name to swap the audio without losing the details you've typed. Use the play button to preview it first.

    Upload an album

    1. 1From the Tracks tab of your artist dashboard, click Upload track, then Choose files and select two or more audio files at once. The page switches to Upload an album.
    2. 2Optional: import details from Bandcamp or SoundCloud by pasting the album link. Cloosi fills in the album info and matches each imported title to your files by name or track number.
    3. 3On the Album details tab, click Add album artwork and fill in Album title, Main artist(s) and Genre. Choose an Album type (Album, EP, Single or Compilation) and add tags, a description, a release date and album privacy.
    4. 4Optional: the Advanced settings tab holds credits and rights info for the whole album.
    5. 5Under Album pricing and downloads, pick one option for the whole album (see Pricing and downloads).
    6. 6In the Tracks list, click the pencil on each track to give it a title, artwork and details in the side panel, then click Save details. If you're selling, set each track's own price here too.
    7. 7Drag tracks by the handle on the left to put them in order. The number next to each track is its position on the album.
    8. 8Tick the boxes under Before you publish, then click Upload.

Inside a track's side panel, Import album details copies the album's artwork and details onto that track so you don't have to retype them.

Import details from Bandcamp or SoundCloud

If your release is already on Bandcamp or SoundCloud, you can import its details instead of typing them.

    1. 1When the import window opens, choose Bandcamp or SoundCloud.
    2. 2Paste the link to the release (album/EP link for albums, track link for singles), then press Enter or click Import.
    3. 3If the link leads to more than one release (for example an artist page), pick the right one from the list. Click Back to try another link.
    4. 4Cloosi fills in the title, artwork, release date, description, license, currency and price when they're available. Review everything, as you can still change any field.
    • Importing only copies details. It never copies audio — you always upload your own files.
    • For albums, track titles are matched to your files by name. Clear file names (for example "01 Track name.wav") help them match.
    • Any track that doesn't match keeps its file name as the title, so check the list before uploading.

    Details explained

    • Title — the track or album name, as fans will see it.
    • Main artist(s) — separate multiple names with commas.
    • Genre — the main category of the music. Required.
    • Tags — moods, styles and keywords that help fans find you. Type a tag and press Enter; tags can include spaces, like "melodic funk". Click the × to remove one.
    • Description — liner notes, credits or the story behind the music.
    • Release date — type a date or pick it from the calendar. Leave it empty to use today's date.
    • Privacy — Public shows it on your profile and in search; Private hides it from everyone but you. For albums, every track follows the album's privacy.
    • Album type — Album, EP, Single or Compilation.

    Advanced settings

    All of these are optional.

    • Publisher — the person or company that promotes and monetizes the songwriting.
    • Composer — who wrote the music or melody.
    • ISRC — the recording's international code. Use the same one wherever you distribute it.
    • Record label — the label releasing it, if any.
    • P-line — who owns the sound recording, e.g. ℗ 2026 Your name.
    • Contains music — choose No for spoken word, podcasts and similar.
    • Contains explicit content — adds an "E" badge next to the title.
    • License — how others may reuse your work. Select the chosen license again to clear it.

    Pricing and downloads

Every track can always be streamed for free on Cloosi. On top of that, choose one option:

    • Streaming only — fans can listen but not download.
    • Free download — fans can download at no cost.
    • Sell this track / album — choose a currency and enter a price (minimum 1.00). Fans pay by card through secure Stripe checkout.
    • Let fans pay more — your price becomes a minimum, and fans can choose to pay extra.

    How album pricing works

    • The album's setting applies to every track in it. To change a track's availability or currency, change the album setting.
    • When selling, fans can buy the whole album at the album price, or individual tracks at each track's own price.
    • Every track needs its own price when the album is for sale. Tracks without one show "Price not set" in red.
    • If you charge in a different currency than your payout account, Stripe converts it and a conversion fee may apply.

Adding, removing and reordering album tracks

    Add tracks

    1. 1On the album upload page (or when editing an album), click + Add tracks below the track list.
    2. 2Choose one or more audio files. They're added to the end of the list and start uploading.
    3. 3Click the pencil on each new track to fill in its details, then drag it into place.

    Remove a track

    1. 1Click the trash icon on the track.
    2. 2Choose what happens to it:• Keep as a standalone single — it leaves the album but stays on your profile as its own track.• Delete track permanently — it's removed, along with its plays and likes.• If someone has bought the track, it can't be deleted. Hide track (buyers keep access) removes it everywhere except for people who bought it.
    3. 3Click Save to apply the change.

An album needs at least two tracks, so edit and remove buttons only appear when there are two or more.

    Reorder tracks

On a computer, drag a track by the grip handle on its left and drop it in its new spot. The numbers update automatically.

    Edit an album later

In your dashboard, open the album and choose edit. The same full-screen page opens with everything filled in. Make changes, then click Save. If you leave with unsaved changes, Cloosi asks before discarding them.

    After you upload

Public tracks appear on your profile and dashboard right away, and can show up in search, trending and New music. If your artist profile is still pending, they become visible once you're approved. To edit details or replace audio later, see Editing and removing tracks.
